About
It all starts with DESIGN . . .without that nothing else matters!
Whether you plan to do the work yourself or want a turnkey remodel, or something in between, Allen Kitchen & Bath is the place to go.
One of our talented designers will come to your home to discuss your project, measure the rooms involved then prepare CAD drawings showing your new space.
Then your designer will assist in recommending and pricing all the products and labor needed for your project right in our beautiful showroom. You'll know the total cost . . . not just an 'estimate.'
It couldn't be easier! Call or stop in today or visit our website: www.allenkit.com
No matter how many kitchens or bathrooms we create each year it is still exciting to see each room transformed into a brand new space that better reflects the lifestyle of our customers.
Working with repeat customers is especially rewarding. We get to go back years later to work on another project but have a chance to see how well the previous room is holding up and if it still meets the needs of the owners. We select products that offer great value which also means they must weather the test of time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Designing a new kitchen, bath, laundry or other room for a client is all about getting to know them and their goals.
A visit to your home by our designer is essential in designing a room or rooms that take full advantage of the spaces available and integrate into the rest of the home.
The next meeting will be at our store. Your designer will show you 3 dimensional views of the proposed remodeling and the complement of products and colors they have selected for your review.
Pricing will typically be provided in detail at this meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There is no substitute for years of experience for our designers and technical support staff. They will make the redesign of your home look effortless!
With over 20 employees we offer not only great designers but also experts in building design, code compliance and staff carpenters and trade partners for electrical and plumbing to make it all happen.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have developed a terrific pricing program for products and especially site work. It allows us to compile a detailed quote for your project in a few hours. And, to make the changes you wish quickly.
We believe that a fair price is also a COMPLETE price, not just an estimate with allowance for everything.
How did you get started in this business?
Gary and Laree Allen purchased a small countertop shop. We quickly expanded into adding a showroom and now have extensive showrooms in Madison and Brookfield. Our countertop shop is located by our Madison store.
The shop also allows us to produce unique custom shower bases with Corian that can take advantage of whatever space your bathroom has to offer to get a larger shower.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Our focus has always been on middle income homeowners to provide them creative designing and cost effective remodeling for their interiors.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We recently completed a remodel of a master bath taking out the massive deck mounted whirlpool tub that was never used anymore and building a spacious doorless shower with multiple shower heads and valves. A design that fit the owner's lifestyle.
While the big elaborate remodels come to mind so do some of the smaller kitchens because they offer greater challenge to fit in everything the owners dream of. A Wauwatosa 10x12 kitchen with a large window and 2 doorways was just such a project. They now have a fantastic new kitchen including a built in table that seats three.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When analyzing remodelers you should be very careful of estimates that have multiple 'allowances' for products. This can add thousands to your project when finish.
Allen Kitchen and Bath prides ourselves in providing complete pricing for products AND labor with few if any allowances. You'll know the true cost before you make a commitement.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is always helpful for our designers if you print out ideas or clip pictures of things you want to incorporate into your project. It allows us to zero in on the design quicker.
Establish a budget you can allocate to this project. It is truely helpful to a designer to have a relative idea of budget so we can work accordingly.
We just sold a complete kitchen remodel for under $15,000. The owner said he wanted to spend $10,000. While we couldn't wuite get there it is a far cry from the average nationwide kitchen remodel of $35,000 to $45,000.
