At Your Service Plumbing
About
At Your Service Plumbing, Inc. was founded in 1984 under the name of K & M Plumbing Service, Inc. The primary focus was residential new construction. In 1999, this family operated business, started by Mr. Rod Thaut who was our “wizard of plumbing”, quickly built a solid reputation for outstanding service and professional workmanship where the customer’s family always came first.
That legacy continues today to honor the memory of Rod, who passed in 2010. At Your Service Plumbing, Inc. is different from any other home & residential plumbing company in the Tacoma/ Pierce County area. Our goal is to provide legendary customer service in a caring and professional manner.
We focus on you, the client, and is the reason we have Client Care Representatives available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Client Care Representatives focus on communication by calling to remind you of your appointment, contacting you when one of our plumbers is on the way or if he will be delayed. We also welcome your feedback and are proactive in calling to ensure you were satisfied with the service you received.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Schedule a two hour arrival window for a personal, plumbing professional to arrive at their home in a fully stocked truck to handle most repairs right then. Communicate when plumbing professional is on the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Only certified plumbers are sent out. Trainees sometimes accompany them to gain the 6000 on the job hours required to take the state certification test. All certified plumbers and trainees are required to obtain continuing education credits
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do and it is in a book which is shared with the client. All investment requirements are quoted to the client up front for their approval. So no matter if there are speed bumps along the way or the plumber takes a little longer to complete the task the client knows what their investment will be before the work is begun. Some jobs may require stages however it is still quoted upfront for approval.
How did you get started teaching?
I am not sure about this question. I own a residential service and repair company which has been in business since April 1, 1984.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with homeowners, those who live in their home and those who have rental properties.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am not sure it is an event however reading the great reviews my team receives always warms my heart.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be sure the company is licensed, bonded and insured. It can be checked on this website - https://secure.lni.wa.gov/verify/. Then be sure they send out a certified plumber. Ask to see the plumber's certification. My team wear arm band or lanyards with their identification in them along with picture ID.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Will you be sending a certified plumber? Will he have the tools, the parts and the knowledge he requires to handle my challenge? Do you charge by the hour or the job? If by the hour when does the clock start and end and will you send your fastest plumber? How can I pay you? Do you accept credit cards? Do you offer payment plans?
