How did you get started in this business?
My father was a residential home builder and master carpenter in Illinois for 40 years. I started working for him at the age the early age of 10, cleaning up job sites and helping carry materials to the carpenters. By the age of 17 I was a job site foreman setting up daily and weekly plans, based on the phase of the project. We built 25 - 35 custom homes a year. I worked with my father's company for 17 years. Then I joined the Carpenters Union, and the Laborers Union and went through both apprenticeships and carried 2 skilled Union cards working on many commercial and residential construction jobs. I worked In the union trades for 16 years before I moved to Virginia in 2009, to be with family here and started my company in 2011.
