Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After contacting us we will schedule a free design consultation in which we will come to your home. There we can discuss any ideas you may have and what type of pool fits your backyard or land. Next is the design process and that can take anywhere from 3 days to a week depending on the complexity of the design. We will then present the design to you in person. If everything is to you liking we will then price everything and present a proposal to you. Should you choose De4coTech as your new pool builder we will then aquire approval for construction from your HOA or obtain city permits if needed. Most projects take 4 to 6 weeks to complete weather permitting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30+ years experience designing and building custom swimming pools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Unfortunately there is no standard pricing system for a swimming pool. There are many different variables involved in the process resulting in big differences in cost.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have been fortunate enough to work on some very high end projects. How ever we are also conscious of the customer who may be on a budget.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There are quite a few pool builders in the Houston area today. Among those are some very reputable, knowledgable and trustworthy builders. There are also some builders that can't be placed in those catagories. Make sure you feel comfortable in the builder you choose. Make sure they have been around a while, that they use quality subs, use quality grade equipment and use ample size pumps and filters. Bottom line is to make sure you do your homework and remember that you get what you pay for. The best price isn't always your best option.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
warranty and length of warranties?
is contractor insured?
experience?
willing to provide lien release for all subs?
What brand of equipment will be used?
What size plumbing and valves?
