Sully Tyler Inspections
About
Decades of experience in construction and renvations provide first-hand knowledge of what is critical for homeowners to be aware of.
Communication skills to enable the client to make sense of the findings without excessive legalese.
A commitment to truth and awareness of my duty to the client. Until the client runs out of questions, my job is not done
First, I enjoy being able to speak truth to my clients. I feel good about helping people feel comfortable about what is, for many, the most significant investment of their life. The work is often challenging, noting subtle clues to find underlyingissues. It's always fun trying to figure out what some builder thought was a good idea fifty years ago.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Schedule an inspection for when the customer has the time to be there. Do the inspection explaining things about the house as I go. Keep answering questions until the client has none left. I will write the report of my findings within 24 hours.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All necessary classwork and continuing education for a Professional Real Estate Inspector's license. Thirty years of experience in home remodeling/repairs/contracting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Minimum price is $250, up to about 2,500 square feet. Above that size, around ten cents per foot. For example, a 3,500 sf. house would b $350.00
How did you get started in this business?
I've always been an inspector. Real estate, Internal auditor, aircraft general mechanic for the USAF; inspecting is inspecting.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential buyers, retirement house buyers, first-time buyers, house flippers, commercial buyers, just about every nationality, Spanish-only speakers
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was explaining to my client that these small mounds of dirt meant that crawfish were there and that meant the property was frequently flooded for a day or two. The seller's agent claimed that they were from moles, that he in fact had had some around his office the year before. I walked around to the other side of the house, picked up the dead crawfish I had seen, and silently held it out to him. He stopped trying to snow me after that.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask if you can see a sample report. I do not use the computer report-writing software that produces 50 page reports. I tell the customer what he needs to know to make an informed decision.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Understand what their needs are, and then their wants.
