About this pro

We are a local company that has a passion for the craftsmanship of our trade and providing a great service at affordable price point.

The most enjoyable part of my work would be the appreciation our customers have for us when we make their plans come true. The second is showing the homeowners ways to do small repairs that will save them money down the road.

Working with Billy is great. I trust him completely since we have known each other since high school. I’m a divorced mom and I call on Billy to help me care for my home. He always does a great job with anything I need done.

  • Alicia Sterner

He is kind, efficient and a very talented hard worker. He can fix anything with great detail for perfection. He also did not overcharge like so many do. I highly recommend Mr Johnson.

Bill is very professional and trustworthy. He can handle just about any repair you have. He's always polite, communicative and will get the job done the way it's supposed to be done.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After receiving a request, I will meet with you to get an idea of the scope of work involved in your project. I can then give you an idea of the cost of your job.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a second generation builder in Charleston with over 30 years of residential experience. I’m a retired firefighter from Charleston where I also trained recruits in building Collapse/  Construction.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

No, I do an individual estimate of materials and labor.

How did you get started in this business?

I started when I was in High School in the 80s with our family business. Since then, I have gained experiences that allows me to look at projects and give a very accurate idea of the details of your project.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Residential homeowners that have wanted to add-on or update their home, and folks looking to build a home. Commercial business owners looking to update or build-out their space.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I participate in a project called action day where as a group we use the last Saturday of each month to reach out to the community-in-need with critical home repairs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Ask for a copy of their license and a couple of references. Beware of specialty contractors, if they’re not a residential home builder or licensed general contractor then they did not sit for an exam to be qualified in their trade.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Mainly to have a realistic budget. Find out the process if they live in an HOA managed neighborhood, I’ve had projects put on hold for up to 30 days because of HOA delays. Also talk to their building services department of their local government.
