What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's very important we provide our customers with immediate comfort and confidence with their HVAC issues from the very first contact. We quote rates and possible related expenses and schedule a visit within 24 hours. Service is rendered with speed, accuracy and cleanliness. All work is guarranteed and we maintain contact with customers at all times.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1979-1983 NYC apprenticeship.
1984-2017 Certified, Licensed Heating & Air Conditioning Service and Installation Master tech and business owner.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We are very competitive @ $110 per hour but better then that we are highly skilled and better equipped with tools and truck stock then our competitors plus we offer “legitimate”(we don’t show up Sunday just to come back Monday, we make repairs the day you place a call) 24 hour service rain snow or shine. Our customers receive every discount and consideration we can offer. We specialize in repairing equipment, when others push for replacement
How did you get started in this business?
In 1980 I began working for the largest HVAC company in NY and learned from 40 year veteran techs. In 1985 myself and my two older brothers started our own company after a career of making our employers rich and we built it up to 30 trucks with fourty men. After many grueling years in NYC, I decided to sell my interest in the company and move to the Pocono's where unexpectedly I came out of retirement because of a great need for customer satisfaction and although I remain small I provide a quality volumn of service.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In all my years working in NY for millionaires and celebrities, my favorite people are in the Pocono's and NEPA. I especially enjoy our seniors and their hospitality, that's why we offer a discount. I also respect and admire our Veterans, who are humble valued customers and friends.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
NEVER pay in full for any service before services are rendered. ALWAYS check into who you are hiring (Insured, licensed). NEVER pay for extended warranties from a contractor because 10 years is standard and not an additional cost. DO NOT hire a contractor without a signed, detailed contract, no hand shakes. Cheaper is not always better. Get several estimates. Remember a customer has 30 days to break a written, signed contract!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
NEVER reveal your budget! Let the contractor provide a detailed honest estimate. NEVER show other estimates to the contractor until he provides his legitimate estimate. Do your homework and research what is economically sound for your needs and research the equipment proposed by a contractor. Remember we need to make a living. If you expect something for nothing, you will get nothing for something.
