Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We provide a no obligation proposal based on meeting with you at your site and discussing the scope, finishes, time line etc. of your project. Once you decide you would like to proceed forward with us, we require a 10% deposit to begin working together through the selection process and schedule your project. The remainder of payments are staged based on percent completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a carpenter's apprentice during college where I earned a degree in chemistry. After working in industry as an engineer for a period of time, I formed a company that specialized in new construction homes. We built nearly 100 custom homes. Since the early days, we have gone on to expand our services to include remodel and renovations of existing homes from straight forward bath remodels to whole house overhauls.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing is individualized to each job depending on the scope of work.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with clients of varying backgrounds from first time home buyers and remodelers to seasoned pros.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is important to ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable with the persons ability to perform work. Pay attention to communication skills and the business side of the initial process as much as the work side. Be certain you can see yourself working with the contractor and ensure you feel it would be an enjoyable process as projects require a fair amount of time working and communicating with your contractor.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
it is helpful to have a fairly clear idea of the scope of work you would like to perform. If the scope of work is fairly undefined, when acquiring multiple proposals, they may not be of equal merit as the details that may be missing will be filled in by the contractor in order to complete the proposal. The inherent differences in contractors methodology in filling in those blanks can create very different proposals and make it difficult for clients to adequately make well informed decisions when making their contractor selections.
