About
I’m an individual locksmith not a big company. What this means for my customer is that they will be charged enough for me to make a profit when I come do a job for them but they won’t be over charged like with big companies because I’m not getting paid a small percentage of whatever I sell you just so that I can pay my bills. This means I don’t have to charge the several hundred dollars for services that many companies in my area will charge for many of the services I offer. Operating like this allows me to keep more of my customers long term and build a business relationship with them so that they return every time they need help.
I enjoy being able to help people in need at more affordable rates when I am able to do so. I will often give solid prices or at least a price range before I come to work on something. It’s rare that I actually have to see something to give a least a rough estimate or a price range for a job.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, a customer contacts me with information about what they need to have done.
I ask for a brief description of the issue they are having and try to determine what will be needed in order to fix the problem.
I will explain what needs to be done and give an estimate or a price range to be expected for making the repair. If I am not able to determine what the actual issue is I will explain that I will need to see this before I can give any pricing and then I would charge a $15-25 service fee depending on the location to come out and give my assessment and some options and pricing. The service fee will typically apply to the end bill so it isn’t an extra expense for my customer so long as they decide to have me do the work.
Then I work with the customer to determine if this is an emergency service or if it can be scheduled for a later time, usually same day or next day. Sometimes scheduling later can make it cheaper depending on availability of parts for a particular service.
Once everything has been determined I get the parts needed and call the customer when I’m about 20-30 minutes from the job so they expect my arrival.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the industry for about 10 years and continue to learn the new technologies as they become popular including services and parts for residential, commercial, & automotive lock security needs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I always suggest calling for quotes, locksmithing is a wide range of skills, costs, and labor involved in each job we do. Sometimes I am able to offer different levels of service based on a specific clients needs and capability (for example a mechanic may not need help changing an ignition but may not be able to cut and program the new key)
How did you get started in this business?
I started off doing roadside assistance and quickly realized the need to expand into locksmithing if I wanted to be able to help my customers in more ways. So many times that I showed up for roadside assistance and people were actually locked out of their house or really needed a new key for their car, and I couldn’t do anything to help at the time.
