What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We understand that most of the time our clients, new or existing, don’t want to wait days for someone to come give an estimate with a pushy sales pitch and then wait to be out in the schedule. We are fast, accurate, clean and precise. We have fair standard pricing for almost every plumbing and electric service that we provide. We arrive on time, asses your needs, provide an on the spot formal estimate and in most cases, we can perform the work in the same visit. We have simplified and streamlined the entire experience for our clients and the feedback we have received is tremendous. We look forward to adding you to our list of repeat clients.
How did you get started in this business?
My name is Ben Wirsching, owner, of Tailored Home Services. I started off as a tile setter working in bathrooms in Elizabeth, NJ and fell in love with the artistic side of tile installations. When I moved back to the Cincinnati area in 2002, I started my own tile installation company that quickly grew into a full bathroom design and remodeling company. Honestly, I was way more passionate about the projects and the artistic tile installations than I was profitable at doing them and frankly my strengths are not managing large month long projects well. What I found out while putting huge bathroom remodels together is how hard it was for me to find quality plumbers and electricians at an affordable price. The bigger companies are expensive and cumbersome to work with. They tend to sell rather than listen to the client, which has always rubbed me the wrong way, but they sell peace of mind because of there fail-safe size. Then you have the guys that are just as good at drinking as they are at their profession so getting the work completed was like putting a toddler to bed. So, we started handling the entire remodel in house without subcontracting the specialized trades. I instantly became fascinated with the mechanical and absolute systems that are plumbing and electric. The science and the math were scaleanle challenges that I enjoyed. After 7 years of shadowing two masters in their trades and eagerly learning what they passed on to me, I decided to redirect my focus from bathrooms and tile installations to offering a very simple a la carte menu of plumbing and electric services to homeowners. 5 years later and I couldn’t be happier. It’s one thing to wake up and grind through every day and it’s another to calmly and systematically please our clients by doing what we know well. We just show up to work and do what we do for a lack of better terminology. We focus more on building our business with every new client that hires us and growing the relationships with our repeat clients. It’s simple really, we focus on the fundamentals of the client interaction: be on time, be transparent, be honest, be consistent, be courteous, don’t make a mess, communicate clearly, stand behind our work and take pride in resolving any unpleasant experiences or fix our mistakes. Long winded, I know, but the question was asked so what better way to show you who we are than with an honest and telling answer.
