Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I don't treat new customers any different than customers that I've known for 30 years. All my customers are treating with respect.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 31 years experience. I completed schooling to go from apprentice to journeyman to master plumber.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I don't use flat rate pricing. I find it's a fair to the customer. Sometimes it costs the customer too much. I charge by the hour. I try to be as efficient as possible. The quicker I am, the less I have to charge. But that doesn't mean less quality in workmanship or material.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a lady call me for not water. Her well pump needed to be replaced. She lived alone and on disability. Two other plumbers would not help her without full payment. I replaced her pump and got her water back on gave her the bill. Told her to pay what she could when she could. She paid $20 a month for 3 months then payments stopped. Drove past her house and found a for sale out front. Two days later a sold sign. Thought I was out my money. One month later gotta a check for the balance with a thank you note for working with her when no one else would. It's a great feeling to know I could help her.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't pay upfront for work. And don't pay complete bill before work is completed. Make sure they are licensed and insured.
