Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we make initial contact with you we usually set up an appointment for a free inspection/estimate. At the time of the inspection/estimate we identify the pest/s, scope of the problem, plan for treatment, price for treatment, and guarantee that will be issued for you and answer any questions you may have. Then we either treat on the spot or make an appointment to come back for treatment depending on what you decide.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified training and licensing through the state of New Jersey and/or New York, including
General Structural Pest Control and
Wood Destroying Insect Control.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We give free estimates so that we give you a fair price for your particular situation not a "blanket" price that would cover anything and everything.
How did you get started teaching?
I wanted to develop my own company that I could expand in both scope and service that would provide safe and enjoyable employment and provide a service that was necessary and helpful to the public.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all types of customers: home owners, tenants, landlords/property management, store owners, business offices, government agencies etc...
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find out what type of services they offer. For example, do they offer monthly or quarterly spray contracts? Do they offer an Integrated Pest Management program? For example, suggestions about modification of habitat, use of baits and monitoring, adding screens to windows, sweeps to doors, removing debris from yard, etc....
Make sure the company has the required licenses and insurance.
Review the contract so that you know what is expected of both parties and what the guarantee is.
Do your part to help manage the pest so that sustainable solutions are reached.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Has the pest been positively identified or do I need help with that?
Is the problem bad enough or big enough to justify the use of a pesticide? For example: a couple of bugs on roses can be ok, but one roach in the kitchen is not.
What methods might be used to control or exclude the pests? What are my preferences? i.e. toxic/least toxic?
