Q & A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We love new customers and upon our initial connection, we enter all of your the data into our electronic dispatch software.  This information is visible to our field team to prevent communication breakdown.  Our field team is dispatched electronically from call to call and they have a prescribed diagnostic plan to assess your system.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Comfort Master has a mechanical license so we can handle any project.  Additionally we have a general electrical license to assist as well.  We have thousands of training hours for our team.  All of our team who handle refrigerant are EPA certified.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

We have a $99.00 service diagnostic that includes a thorough assessment of your cooling or heating function (depending on the season) as well as the trip fee.  Once we have done a complete diagnostic, then the findings are reviewed with you along with our upfront pricing.  We do not do any work without your approval.  Comfort Master takes all major credit cards and has financing available through Wells Fargo for more significant repairs.

How did you get started in this business?

Comfort Master was started by Tommy and Fay Brown in 1994.  They had a vision to serve customers and make a difference.  To this day, they are committed to building trusting relationships through honesty with each customer and provide 100% customer satisfaction.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have done thousands of new construction system design and installations as well as system replacement and HVAC for remodels or additions.  We work with residential and commercial customers as well as builders.

Describe a recent project you are fond of.

A recent customer had a heat pump with ductwork in his home.  He wanted to look at something different.  We designed and installed Mitsubishi (ductless) mini-split systems that gave him a lot more control over temperatures in different areas.  Added to that, this system is whisper quiet and is very efficient.  His comment was that when it was time to replace the second floor system, he would use the new application.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Energy star provide a great reference for what to look for when selecting an HVAC provider:

1) is your contractor licensed? 2) Can they provide examples of quality installations? 3) Did they use a quality installation checklist? 4) Will they test air flow?  5) Will they verify refrigerant charge  6) Will they evaluate the duct system for leakage  7) Did they do load calcs and properly size for the equipment selection

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Customers should: check BBB listing / ratings & online reviews, look at the company website, confirm they do upfront pricing, offer financing, are licensed and insured, employees are background checked and drug tested, ask if they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, provide detailed proposals.
