Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a customer calls our office, we have team members that collect customer information, including their scope of work, and then we set up an appointment with the customer that best suits their schedule.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are licensed under the State of North Carolina as Master Plumbers.
We are certified by multiple manufacturers to perform warranty and scheduled mainentance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No, we operate on a quoted pricing system or on an hourly repair pricing system. This provides customers with prices that are fair and do not overcharge for services that are not requested. We employ plumbers, not salespeople that do plumbing work. We will not push unneeded services onto our customers.
How did you get started in this business?
B. H. Hefner started plumbing in 1919 in the Charlotte, NC area. Our family has followed in his legacy since then and provided superior plumbing to our area since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Literally all types of customers. We work with homeowners, landlords, business owners, government agencies, manufacturers and large corporations on a daily basis.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We enjoy helping customers who are having a bad day due to a water emergency. We recently had a customer with a frozen water pipe that had burst and it was great to hear their relief we when were able to repair the leak and restore water in an otherwise dire situation.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find a company that is competent in performing the work that you are requesting. We are not against recommending that a customer find a different company to perform their work because it is outside of our area of expertise. If you have a competent professional take care of your job, you will have peace of mind that the job is up to code and safe.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
If the customer is doing a remodel or having new construction work performed, be sure that you have a vision of what you would like the job to be like once it is completed. If you are needing a repair, then the best question is how soon can the work be performed and is the repair company well versed in making the repair.
