Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we set up an appointment to come to your location so you can give us in-depth details about the problem you are experiencing and we then complete an inspection of involved areas. Through this inspection we will identify the pest, diagnose the problem, including the scope of the problem, location of where pest is, treatment plan, and sustainable solutions such as sealing entry points, etc... all of which we discuss with you. We prepare a written estimate on the spot and schedule an appointment at your convenience. It is also possible to schedule the estimate in such a way that you can get treatment at the same time if that is what you want.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified training and licensing through the state of Missouri, including
General Structural Pest Control and
Wood Destroying Insect Control.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We offer free estimates as an alternative to standard pricing. In this manner you are only paying for what you need. So many variables are involved in pest control that standard pricing would equate to some customers paying for more than what they received and others paying for less. Therefore we opt for fair pricing by means of free estimates.
How did you get started teaching?
I wanted to develop my own company that I could expand in both scope and service that would provide safe and enjoyable employment and provide a service that was necessary and helpful to the public.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with homeowners, tenants, landlords, business owners, as well as state and federal agencies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently picked up three raccoons from a house. They were very cute but scared too. I drove them to a remote wooded area and released them and watched all three climb up a tree. I always enjoy getting to relocate the wildlife that we catch knowing they get to go about their lives in a new area. The pick up and release took about an hour.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find out what type of services they offer. For example, do they offer monthly or quarterly spray contracts? Do they offer an Integrated Pest Management program? For example, suggestions about modification of habitat, use of baits and monitoring, adding screens to windows, sweeps to doors, removing debris from yard, etc....
Make sure the company has the required licenses and insurance.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Has the pest been positively identified or do I need help with that?
Is the problem bad enough or big enough to justify the use of a pesticide? For example: a couple of bugs on roses can be ok, but one roach in the kitchen is not.
What methods might be used to control or exclude the pests? What are my preferences? i.e. toxic/least toxic?
