Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I take pride in every job we do no matter how small or big the job is.
We just did a job to help a woman who was involved in a accident she needed a ramp because she will be in a wheelchair for a few months then a walker! We removed her old porch and build her a ramp as well as made a few smaller ramps inside her home so she can get around.
she had no clue that al of this was done as it was her daughter and neighbor aka for our help.
the women was overwhelmed as she returned home to see what had been done.
it was a very touching moment for me as well as ot my crew to see the woman's reaction and to know it was one less worry she had in the up coming weeks!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Know who you are hiring, beware of huge price difference in bids! Most people are going to be with in a few hundred dollars of each other based of size of company and number of employees!
There is a huge difference between companies and a group of guys out doing work!
please understand company's have cost in doing business the right way, most group of guys don't have any of those cost and tend to be much cheaper then companies but with that provide no protection to the you the customer or the work that will be done.
Please please be ready to do the project! Most contractors give free quotes however it is at a cost to us contractor!!
We have time, fuel and ware and tare on our vehicles to come look at your project. We spend time to talk with you and get an idea of what your looking for. then we have to build you a quote for the work you are looking forward having done this is all at our expense.
so if you aren't ready to do the job or have no really idea of what your cost would be please please do some research before requesting quotes!
This a very big issue for a lot of companies and when you have 3 or 4 people who request quotes and aren't ready to do work that a huge cost to company and that is what drives prices up!
Also I would say be sure your ready to do the job because materials prices change all the time In busy season and many time a project gets quoted and then have a price changes by the time your ready to do the job.
in our case all of our quotes are only good for 10 days.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Every job is different and all question related to that job could be different however if the question you have haven't been answer don't be afraid to ask a direct question.
You need to feel like the person you are hiring is the right price not just the right price!
