Meet with customer at there home, listen to there ideas and needs put together a design at the kitchen table price out that design on the spot to make sure it works with there budget formalize bid sign contract get signing deposit schedule project to be built.

Yes for any deck project I have every part and piece priced out so all I have to do is figure out the design and the parts and I have a consisant price in minutes.
How did you get started in this business?
I started building club houses with my buddies in grade school and I never stoped.
I have a passion about watching projects grow from nothing into something beautifull.

The ones that are looking for honest quality and workmanship.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check them out before you ask them to come to your home for a bid.
Don't wast your time with contractors that do not meet your standards. It doesn't make any difference what price they give you go with your gut instinct.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
budget! if you don't know your budget how can a contractor design some thing that you can afford.
Having a solid idea of the furniture you would like to have on the deck will help design it so every thing will fit.
