What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new clients we set up a meeting to discuss the ideas they have for their project. Then we work together to bring their vision to reality by setting up project timelines and budget.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
As every project has its own particular challenges and goals we do not have a standard pricing system. However we provide a detailed quote for each project taking into account our clients budget.
How did you get started in this business?
PM Construction was started in 2004 to provide our community with quality remodeling and construction services at affordable pricing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Homeowners, landlords, business owners and property managers.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We are currently renovating a home in which we removed a divider wall to expand the kitchen into an open floor design. The result of the renovation is a joined dining room and kitchen with a large peninsula of cabinets and updated lighting. This design allows for a more comfortable layout by bringing in natural sunlight from all points of the building and provides the owners with a better design for entertainng guests. In addition to the kitchen we completely renovated the bathroom and addded a drop down staircase to give the property more storage space. Future plans for their home will include finishing the basement and updating the laundry room.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Hiring a contractor can be one of the toughest parts of the clients job. However if you take your time to research the contractor and ask the right questions before the hiring process it will make your project much easier on you. Follow this question guideline;
1-How long have you been in business?
2-Are you licensed and insured?
3-Have you completed any projects similar to thi one? If so can I see the work and speak with the homeowner?
4-How long will this project take?
5-What can I expect on a daily basis from your crew and subcontractors? (this is important in understanding what will happen from day to day- everyone has heard the stories about the contractor who started the project and took forever to finish it)
6-What type of guarantee do you offer on your work?
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1-What is the vision of the project? Basically what is to be achieved by doing this?
2-How much can I realistically spend on this? Holding to a budget is one of the most important part of any renovation.
3-Do I want to be on the premises while the work is taking place?
