We love seeing satisfied customers. While we are not perfect, we do our best to put out the best product that we possible can. We are also very proud of the homes that we build, we love helping customers meet their needs, whether that means redesigning or finding something totally unique to create their perfect sanctuary. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our goal is to help you find the perfect community and home for your family. After a brief conversation with a member of our team, we should be able to direct to you to the proper salesperson who can help you choose the right plot of land, design and build your perfect home!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are a third generation builder who has been in business for over 55 years! We have only built single family homes, so our focus has always been building the best and most beautiful homes for our customers that we possibly can. Above and beyond onsite experience, our team is highly committed to doing the research necessary to provide top quality products that don't break the bank. Our team has over 100 years of field experience!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes and no. While every home is priced differently due to the change in structure and features, we can give pretty close estimations on modifications to our existing plans during a first sit. Within a week we can accurately price out modifications to existing plans. And generally speaking, we can big out a custom home in about 3 weeks for completely accurate pricing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types! We have a broad range of price points available. In our Elgin community we offer homes that start around $300,000 and in other locations some homes sell for over $1 million! Our goal here is to do our best to cater to customers across the board.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Fall in love with the team that you will be working with. Building a new home is a long process and you're spending a lot of money! You want to work with a team that is patient, helpful and who will cater the home to your needs - before, during and after your home is complete. Don't pick the cheapest, as you know.. you get what you pay for. The most expensive might just focus on upselling. Find a middle ground and truly get comfortable with the people you will be working with - it will make all the difference in the process!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
You'll need to have a fairly hefty down payment ready when building custom. You'll want to consider financing options (we will help you with that if you'd like). You'll want to make sure that you have time to do selections. With custom building you get to decide everything. During the first month after signing a contract you have a lot of decisions to make, so make sure that you truly have time to do it or you will be extremely stressed out. Consider timeline and be ahead of it. There are outside factors that can affect building such as weather. Do not wait until the last moment to sign a contract. While our building process takes about 7-9 months, give yourself a grace period so that you are not stressed out if something impacts timeline.
