About
Michael Stone Group is a 2nd generation, full service custom build firm focused on providing our clients with a high quality new construction home or renovation, using the most efficient materials and technology possible. We pride ourselves on excellent communication and outstanding service, all designed around your budget. We hit your price point, and the finish date, on each and every project, and have the referrals you can speak with to back it up.
We are passionate about creating the very best projects for our clients and their families, treating each as an opportunity to showcase how our experience, processes and creativity produce a higher quality product. When managed correctly, this is a FUN process! It's incredibly rewarding to start with an idea, a concept from a client, and then create a finished product that we are ALL proud of.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, clients are either referred to us from a friend, realtor or designer, or they see one of our projects/signs/MLS listings and give us a call to inquire. We then discuss what the clients are looking to acheive, and when appropriate, meet to tour other similar homes/projects we have completed that most closely mirror the specifications, sq ft and price point the potential client is looking to acheive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are a 2nd generation builder, whose parent company has been developing properties and building homes since 1988.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No, most projects we undertake are custom, and very specific and unique. We never replicate a specific home...So we can typically get a potential buyer through a similar home
How did you get started in this business?
Learning the business from my mother and father started when I was young, 12-13 years old: sweeping floors, moving lumber, breaking up concrete floors, removing construction debris from the projects, protecting floors and carpets....
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types, from smaller projects like screen porches to $3M+ custom homes.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We are currently designing a modern farmhouse renovation in Northfield that will begin in May, 2017.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask lots of questions, speak to clients they have worked with, both recently and at the very beginning of their business, in order to see if they back up their product after the warranty ends. How was the process? Did the pricing stay within the desired range? If not, why? Did you deviate from the initial specifications tied to your initial price point? Did the sq ft of the project increase? Was the project completed on time? This process can and should be fun, when managed correctly, by an experienced builder. Ask local realtors what they think of the builders you are considering. This is the largest financial investment most of our clients will ever make, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Go with your gut, because if the initial pricing sounds too good to be true, it probably is...
