Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customers go online or call our office directly to request a quote. Once customer is satisfied with quote, usually they receive about 3 before choosing a company, a deposit of 30% of total move cost is paid. The deposit solidifies the date and locks in the rate. Once the move is reserved, we contact customer approximately 5 days prior to move day to see if any changes, if not we then advise customer that the next call they will receive 24-48 hours prior to pick up day with confirmation. We also do visual estimates for jobs being picked up within a 50 mile radius of Fort Lauderdale, local or long distance moves.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
CDL driver for 16 years. Household goods mover for over 20 years prior to starting my own company.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Prices vary for long distance moves based on the pick up and delivery locations. Local moves are charged $99 per hour for 3 guys with a minimum of 4 hours.
How did you get started in this business?
I started as a household goods mover working on a truck with various companies.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We provided a visual estimate for a customer moving from Florida to North Carolina. Once the time came for her to move, customer was not able to secure her funds. We as a company decided that we would do her relocation at our cost. Based on that one simple gesture to a 90 year old woman, we received many referrals from her friends as well as family.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be certain that the company they speak with will actually be doing the move AND, very important to read all paperwork presented at pick up before signing. Customer should also do their homework and check out any movers they intend to hire to take care of their personal items.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customer should have an accurate inventory of the items to be moved. Customer needs to be aware of items that require packing such as beds and any glass items. Customer should find out if large trucks are accessible to pick up and delivery locations. These few items will cause the cost of the move to increase at the time of pick up if these things are not addressed at the time of making the reservation.
