I requested to replace kitchen garbage disposal on 8/11/22 and he responded to my request quickly so I appreciated and hired him and agreed to pay him $200 labor (the high end of average labor cost range) for this job. He came on same day as scheduled, replaced our old machine with a 1/3 HP new disposal but not instead of installing the entire machine, replaced the bottom part only and remained the old top without replacing. During his work, the sink dropped and the disposal could not stay... He said he could fix it and asked for additional $125 labor . Then he got liquid nail and manually spread about 1/3 tub (4 fl oz/tub) between the edge of sink and the countertop and asked us to provide some stuff to support the disposal temporarily, we gave him some pieces of wood he used under the disposal. Then he told us don’t use the sink and disposal till 24 hours later. He confirmed us after 24 hrs the sink and disposal will stay without issue so we paid him total $325 labor + machine price. However, the job was not done well. More 30 hours later, we tried to use the sink and saw the liquid nail came out and sink away from the countertop and the disposal is unstable and leaking because the disposal tub was not connected well to the related tub which connecting the sewer pipes... so we could not use in normal way. Therefore I contacted him multiple times between 8/12/22 through 8/15/22 and he originally agreed to come to fixed it. Few days passed he said he could not come until 8/16 so I proposed he refund us the $125 additional labor charge so I hire someone else to fix it. He agreed on 8/15 to refund but did not to do it so far. Now it’s already 10 days passed, we still could not use the sink and disposal since the sink is not attached to the countertop and disposal dropped down when the temporary support stuff were removed and leaking when pull water into sink. We tried to contact him by phone but no answer; tried to leave message but his mailbox full; by sending text and attached email to show him the sink and disposal issues but no any responses since last Tuesday (8/16). Honestly we don’t satisfy the job qualities and the work ethic.
