see what's involved, prepare an estimate, sign a contract, or wish them well.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

engineering at texas a+m university

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

can't really institute a standard pricing system doing renovations because each home is different. we do have standard pricing when we are building a new home or office building.

How did you get started in this business?

started working for big builders in texas when i was going to college. moved back up here after college and started my own business. that was 30 years ago (ouch!).

What types of customers have you worked with?

mostly nice ones, but all kinds

Describe a recent project you are fond of.

a 2000 square foot home addition in westchester county, ny. it was a difficult site to work on and required a real effort to tie the new into the old.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

look for value. the lowest price usually means the level of quality and integrity.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

make up a wish list (regarding what you would like for your home/office. then prioritize it. put a dollar amount that you are willing to spend to make each "wish" come true. be realistic; construction projects, for the most part, are not inexpensive.
