Framed houses in while in and for a while after college. Build additions on properties I've owned.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Spend the time and effort (and in some cases, depending on the size of the project - the dollars in design fees) upfront before beginning the project to identify everything you are looking to accomplish. This helps to minimizee any unpleasant surprises
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is their budget and how they are planning to finance the project. That is the biggest question they should be considering. The sencond most important question is what specifically do they want to accomplish.
