Decks by Schmillen is a family-owned and operated custom deck builder based in Colorado Springs, CO, founded in 2000. The company designs and builds outdoor living spaces tailored to each client’s lifestyle, preferences, and budget, emphasizing integrity, communication, quality materials, and durable workmanship. Offerings include new deck construction and restoration; composite, wood, and hardwood decking; steel or wood framing; custom railings; stairs; deck covers, pergolas, and trellises; deck lighting; under-deck drainage systems; glass three-season rooms; and outdoor fireplaces and kitchens. The team also provides multi-level deck refinishing and repairs.

Founder and owner Doug Schmillen leads the restoration division, bringing decades of woodworking experience. His son, Keith, joined in 2005 and spearheads new deck projects. Together, they deliver projects built for long-term performance and everyday use.
