Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After meeting with the customer, I review the project that they are looking to have completed, go over the initial scope of work. I obtain their information; contact numbers, emails. I prepare an estimate based on the information from the walk-through, submit the estimate and once approved, submit a contract based on estimate. set up a scope of work timeline towards a completion date. At the start of the project, introduce any additonal workers that may be doing work in the customer's home. Complete work as outlined in the contract, and upon completion, walk customer thoughout the completed work and perform any additional work in order to assure that the customer is completely satisfied with the work performed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's in Business Finance, along with over 17 years in the industry, including 5 years of residential and commercial flooring. I have several Colorado State license for residential and commercial construction, along with a Wyoming State license.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No. Building materials prices generally dictate overall project pricing, the scope of the project. No two projects are the same. Each project requires individual attention.
How did you get started in this business?
I purchased a house, and it needed some repairs and at the time I had very little knowledge of construction work. I learned first how to install flooring, then my construction knowledge/experience started from there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of clients - first time home owners, multiple family owners, engineers, architects.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently completed a project for a client in Alabama - a complete bathroom renovation, having to completely rebuild the addition from foundation to plumbing and electrical. The finised product is one that I am very fond of, and the client was/is completely happy with the finished product.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do not be afraid to ask questions regarding any aspect of the project - the more the customers knows of the process of the project, the more secure they will feel that they made the right decision of hiring the contractor.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Budget of their project, the desired finished look of the project, respective timeline for project to be completed.
