About

Nate and I (Taryn) are a husband and wife team. Together, we have over 16 years of experience in pet care.

Our passion for helping and caring for animals who were not our own, came to a head when I started volunteering for L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue around 2001. Of course, with rescue work your family comes along the ride.

We know that consistency is the key to a happy pet, and we deliver just that.

We are honest, reliable, trustworthy and consistent. We are where we say we'll be. Stay the agreed upon time. Never shirking our customers, (but since we are having so much fun with our clients, that's very easy to do).

I was a Vet Tech for 3 years as well as caring for my own fur-kids. I have some experience with equine, barnyard and exotic animals. Both Nate and I are very adept and capable with administering many different types of medicine. We can administer, oral meds, Sub Q fluids, intramuscular injections, using and reading a glucometer. We vigilantly look for not only obvious danger signs in pets to see if they are feeling unwell but also changes to their overall everyday demeanor.

We are calm and collected under pressure and crises.

We are not breed biased.

We love them all big, small, young or old, furry, feathered or scaly.

We are patient, kind and love all of our clients as they were our own.

We are never happier than when meeting new clients and making long-lasting relationships with their pets.

We'd love a chance to meet you and your pets.

As silly as it sounds, we love OPP (other people's pets).

We love creating and maintaining lifelong relationships with our clients. They are an extension our own fur family.

Not to mention, this isn't work it's an adventure. We get to play, interact and care for many different types of animals.

Frequently asked questions

After the first initial conversation. We prefer to do a face to face "meet & greet"

We would like to meet you and our potential new client.

At this time, you can ask us any question(s) that we did not discuss previously.

We would both get a chance to get to know each other, gain a sense of each other’s personalities and pet care styles.

And of course, get to meet our potential new client(s).

We have a set list of basic questions about your pet, their likes, dislikes, routines, and any special needs they might have.

Should you choose to use our services, we then have a list of where things are, emergency numbers for your pets and house. Any non-animal related services needed our certain routines to follow.

We are more than happy to have several meet and greets if your pet needs to acclimate themselves to new people.

I (Taryn) worked as a Veterinary technician for 3 years. Have volunteered with a companion animal rescue, (L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue) for 13+ years (this meant, that he too was an active volunteer). Here I took care of many of the animals coming in with illnesses and/or chronic ailments.

While sharing our lives with many different types of pets. I was adamant to research their specific needs, the proper way to assure that they are living the most comfortable and as close to natural style of living as I could provide them. Their common conditions as well as not so common ones.

Animal nutrition has always been one my main interests as well as their physiology. I very interested in the use of nutritional supplements, herbs, mushrooms and traditional Eastern remedies to compliment Western medicine and treatments. As well as the science behind why the combinations work. I have created several client specific special and nutritionally well-balanced meals for them while they were in the last stages of their lives. Helping to address their specific needs complimenting their current medical treatments and medicinal regiments.

During the 20-years that Nate and I have been together, he also learned the above information as well as expanding to other areas that interested him. He has helped with the care of the rescue’s animals and our assorted pet’s issues. He’s learned to administer all manner of medicines as well as at home procedures; injections, sub-q fluids, the use of a glucometer, and providing intramuscular injections. He is quite well versed in helping modify lifestyles to help pets with anxiety issues.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been in love with animals. I started riding at the age of 8. Started walking my neighbor's dogs when I was 13. Worked as Vet. tech, volunteered with a companion animal rescue for 13+ years. It was while a volunteer that I fell into pet sitting. The adopters had the need for someone to walk, check in on and stay with their pets while they were away.

Growing up, Nate had a Pyrenees/Lab mix, Casper. He also has a soft spot for animals and their well-being. So, when we met, he had no problem expanding his heart to encompass all of the animals who have been a part of our lives. Pets, fosters and clients. Not to mention, he has a knack for befriending any animal he meets.

Like any service related industry;

You need to check their references.

Inquire as to how long are they with an average family.

     Do they have repeat clientele?

Do their clients feel comfortable in referring them to friends and      family?

Do listen to your gut and your pets’ reaction to them.

Also, this is not an inexpensive field. If a sitter quotes you a price that seems too good to be true, it might just be that. On the other side, this doesn't mean that the more a sitter charges the better they are.
