Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We come out and view the proposed site with the customer. If they have structural plans we go over those, if they need a pool drawn we make that happen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been building and remodeling pools for 25 years. I have a class A engineering license with the state of California, a B general license, a C53 ( swimming pool construction) license, a C8 (concrete) license and a C29 (masonry) license.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always enjoyed masonry construction, I started in the masonry field as a teenager.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have done exclusively residential swimming pools. In addition we construct fountains, waterfalls, outoor barbecue's and all forms of stonework.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are building a pool that sits on 10 friction piles and all four sides of the pool are out of the ground. The exposed sides are of board-formed concrete, the deck will be at the level of the backyard coming off the top of a retaining wall making the backyard look larger.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always get multiple bids. Always check that your prospective contractor is licensed and has the necessary insurance to protect you and your property. Ask for references.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think through your budget. Am I really going to use the pool?
People tend to use their spa more, unless they have children or are avid swimmers. Am I going to recoup the cost of this pool when I go to sell my home?
