What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk and meet with customer to go over scope of work of what exactly the customer wants done so I can give an accurate estimate and we both are on the same page
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1986 I completeted 3 years of aprenticeship school school for the local carpenters union for journeyman carpenter working as a general carpenter 1995 I opened my own fabrication shop doing tile.marble and granite in high end custom homes in Southern California with 15 full time employees then 2010 I downsized to work solo as a handyman and specialty projects now I’m working in between as a union carpenter and handyman
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $35 per hour for labor and picking up materials if needed
How did you get started in this business?
My father got me started in the construction business at a very young age of 10 years old I was helping him on side jobs as free child labor and I look back now I enjoyed every minute of it
What types of customers have you worked with?
Oh you name it I have worked with Clint Eastwood to my neighbor next door I enjoy people and have developed many friends in the business over the years
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Finishing a complete remodel on a home for my mother that I completed all by myself and the results where fantastic not only my quality but most important the smile on my mother’s face
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
the most important thing is trust and if you like that person and believe they will go that extra mile for you and do what’s best for you and you only then that’s who you hire even if the price might be a bit higher it’s worth it you don’t want someone you gives excuses because it’s something you don’t like or wanted because the customer is always right and comunication is key
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Whatever is on your mind let The contractor know every thing you expect to be done and your budget so there is no misunderstandings and you can compare apples to apples with the other bids
