About
True North Designs is a full service remodeling and construction company. What makes us stand out is our dedication to service. All projects are monitored daily, the client is informed of existing conditions as well as given weekly schedule projections. and design input is tendered at no extra charge. We view the construction relationship as a partnership, and our purpose is to deliver what the client wants, with attention to detail, and with extreme diligence. For a 3 month project, there are typically no more than 1-2 work days where no work is being done.
All of our subcontractors and tradesment are professionals and craftsmen in their fields. One of my own personal skills that exceeds that of most other contractors (from what I've been able to observe), is logistics -- ability to see the sequence and timing of various trades, and coordinate their work schedule such that there are no down days and progress flows to its maximal potential.
We have been awarded the Super Service Award by Angie's List, 7 times in the past 9 years. My construction career started in 1978, building custom homes in Santa Barbara. My own skills in carpentry allow me to implement and oversee the execution of all carpentry projects, from framing to kitchen and bath custom cabinetry.
Construction, and especially remodeling, is an opportunity to engage with others in the creative production of home improvements, and this organic process provides challenges for problem solving and artistic development of the home's aesthetic and structural appeal.
There are photographs of some of our work, which can be seen on Houzz, Angie's List, Facebook, and our website (sorry to say we've been too busy the past 3 years to update the website, but it is coming soon!)
