Been in the business for 40 years I am a US Navy vet medical corpsman graduating with the medal of Honor what makes my business stand out is that I am always flexible with the price and the time yeah I my job always be done right because I study everything everyday for 40 years that is a lot of studying Like any normal individual basically talk to the handyman nothing is written in concrete just like when your grandparents used to talk to the handyman it wasn't always a straightforward shot sometimes they had to haggle with the handyman sometimes they used unusual methods like offering specialty foods or specialty options that the customer can do for the handyman it's so wide open situation they would always amaze me the main rule when you do that is if the price is too high and the guy knows it and you say no can you lower it again and you say no again etc etc that is considered to be rude it is better to come with your price first he may want to charge you a lot more but he will compromise once he sees what your budget is like that's why some technicians take it upon themselves to ask about the customers financial disposition it's not trying to be rude just we don't want to charge you more than you're prepared to pay nor less than your prepared to pay like how would you like to go to a restaurant pay for the regular meal and only get rice that wouldn't be nice so the moral of this story is lack of communications destroys everything if he doesn't want to talk to you or if the customer doesn't want to talk there's an issue there not necessarily anything bad but yeah The unwritten rule is to always offer the technician water you don't know what kind of day he had before he got to you and he probably rushed over and forgot his water and that's all bad especially on a hot day so the moral of the story is when your hand man comes to see you just be normal don't bend over backwards and try not to be too shrewd when I say not too shrewd you can ask all the questions you want that is always your option as a customer the customer is always right. right? All this I say as a customer as wel even thoughl specialize in many things that I do I don't do it all I have to call a handyman sometimes too and I mean all that I say on that particular level and with that said lots of luck with your project potential customer and thank you for choosing a business Mike's maintenance
