About
We are a team of Professional Pet Sitters who have been caring for dogs, cats, fish, birds and rabbits together since 2012, but have been in the Pet Sitting and Dog Walking industry for many years. We are Insured and Bonded for your safety and protection.
We walk large breeds and small. We promise to pamper them at each and every visit! Whether you need regular dog-walking services or only one visit for a vacation, we are here for you. Pet Sitting and cat sitting is our pleasure! Caring for pets with special needs is routine for us. We provide daily dog walking services to blind canines as well as senior canines who require special care and lifting, diapering and handling. We provide Pet Sitting service to diabetic dogs to whom we provide insulin injections, and have many canines and felines needing oral medications, topical medications and eye drop medications administered. Your beloved special-need furry loved one will be in experienced hands with Nita’s Happy Hounds.
We are a member of NAPPS, the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and you will find us listed on their website at www.petsitters.org. We attend regular industry-specific seminars and webinars to remain on-top of important information that could affect the health and welfare of you beloved fur babies. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Visit our website at http://nitashappyhounds.com click on menu button (3 white horizontal lines), drop down to Client Services and then select "Register." We will be alerted and will email you a Welcome Letter with pricing and more information about us feel free to call or text us or we will contact you to book your FREE in-home Meet-n-Greet ASAP.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are Certified Members of NAPPS, the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. We can be found listed on their website at www.petsitters.org. We attend weekly seminars and webinars for ongoing and continuing education in the area of providing proper care for all breeds of canines, felines and exotics.

Potty Break visit (M-F 10a-4p only) $16
Puppy Potty Break $17 (shorter arrival time window and there is usually more clean-up involved)
Pet Sit or 30 min Walk with or w/o feed $26
Pet Sit or 45 min Walk with or w/o feed $32
Pet Sit or 60 min Walk with or w/o feed $37
Overnight in-home Pet Sit $80
Boarding in Our Home $55 (drop-off 11am; Pick-up by 11am)
Doggie Day-Care to 6pm $35
Transportation each direction $15 when tied to a visit or walk
Major Holiday fee per visit $20 (9 per year)
Additional Pet $5 each per visit
Out of service are 5 miles $5
Out of service area 10 miles $10
Less than 24-hour notice fee $5-$25
Less then 24-hour cancellation: 50% of booked service fee

How did you get started in this business?
I believe Everything done well must be learned from the ground up. So initially I became a dog walker/pet sitter and then I was promoted to manager overseeing and responsible for the daily activities of 14 pet sitters. As a Manager I also was asked to perform sales and on-boarding aspects of this business. I began working for myself in the year 2012 and have never regretted it for a moment! I absolutely love caring for dogs, cats and exotics of all ages and sizes. I only hire people with the same heart. 💚🐾

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am honored to be invitied by the City of Aliso Viejo year after year to be one of only TWO Pet Sitter/Dog Walkers with tabletops at their Annual Pet Expo. That says something and I don't take the invitation for granted. Honored, just as I feel to care for your beloved pets.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Higher for Hart and experience. Always ask for proof of insurance and bond.
