Desert Dog Mom
About
My childhood dog passed away while I was in college a few years ago. My heart has been too broken to get a new pet myself. However, I love animals, and have so much to give, so I decided to start taking care of other people's pets to fill the void. After graduating with a finance degree, I realized my passion and skills are with pets. I decided to try and build this business in order to stick with what I love and am truly good at. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually do a meet and greet either over the phone or in a public place in order to make sure we're the right fit. Then, we discuss the services required, dates and time, and lastly pricing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I volunteered at two animal rescue centers over the summers. One is called North Carolina Water Fowl Rescue center, and the other is called Pima Paws for Life. I also have a 4 year profile with Rover and Wag, which are two dog walking and sitting apps. I attained a total of 21, all 5 star reviews on Rover, along with 10 repeat clients. I also have all 5 star reviews on Wag, there's just less business there regarding where I'm located.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing all depends on: the maintenance of the dog, the energy level, if any training is required, any additional errands, boarding versus going to a client's home, the distance I may have to travel, and additional pets.
How did you get started in this business?
My passion for animals!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I love all my customers. When I board dogs, it's usually more relaxed and older dogs becuase we have a smaller apartment. When I sit at other people's houses it's usually when there's a puppy. Also, if the dog has special needs like uses the bathroom in the house a lot, destroys items, or has to have a yard.
