About
Casa is a full service residential design firm. We integrate interior architecture into the desgin process to provde our clients with a wholistic design.
We work with the client as a team providing design and then coordinating with contractors to establish a budget early on in the design process. You can see more regarding how we work on our web site www.casa-arch.com. This explainse the way we work and the process you will go through to develop the design.
I love design and working with the client to develop a truly custom home for them based on their ideas and input through the design process. Seeing ideas take form on paper and computer imaging through construction is truly a rewarding experience.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Schedule the initail meeting to discuss the general scope of the work. If a remodel we walk and talk the house and discuss the ideas, desires of the client so I have a good idea of what is to be done. Then we discuss the design process and how I work.
From that meeting I will produce a proposal for design services and e-mail the client with informaiton on the range of design services and associated costs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have architecture degrees from Washington State University and I am a licenesed architect in the State of Washington
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every project we do is unique to the client so our pricing is done on a case by case basis. Full service design for new construction is 15% of the construction cost. There are many ways to establish pricing based on the clients needs and what design services they require. For remodels we typically bill hourly and give a range of hours to do specific design phases and tasks.
How did you get started in this business?
I started by going to the school of architecture in college and was focused on becoming an architect specializing in custom residential design. I worked for several architectural firms as and intern and became licensed. I started my own firm to establish my personal touch on the design process.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients are married couples. The projects range from small remodels to whole house remodels and custom new homes.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
I have many projects that are fun to look at and be in. If a project is a remodel we strive for a blended approach that acknowledges the strengths of the house while enhancing it to provide the client what they desire. When complete the house does not look remodled rather it looks whole and as if it was always meant to be that way. In the case of a new custom home we take pride in siting the house properly, aknowleging the surroundings and other nearby structures while providing the client with an design that fits their aesthetic and budget.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Take your time, prepare a profile of the things that you wish to be done. This usually starts out as a simple outline or list of the major concerns you have and then we can expand on defining the list as the design process unfolds.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Consider all the things you would like to have done. It does not matter if it is a remodel or new construction defining the needs and desires is the first important step in the design process. Write these ideas down and you can also supliment the ideas with pictures of houses or features that you like in other homes to help illustrate your taste and preferences.
