Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1st we do an estimate, then if a client wishes to move forward, we would send a Contract and request 50% down for start-up labor and materials.
We can also arrange time and materials if the client is ok with that. Our hourly rate of $75.00 per hour/ per man. This option doesn't need a contract and we can be redirected and undergo changes without an addendum and additional costs.
We have also worked under specific guidelines and can cater to everyone's needs, projects and budgets. We also do most everything in the house meaning we do not sub out our work. The exception is when owners request permitting, then a plumber and (or) a licensed electrician would be required.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
10 years and running as a licensed, bonded and insured General Contractor.

How did you get started in this business?
I kind of fell into the contracting business. I was an accounts manager and got an offer from a family friend to come work as an installer in construction. I began installing California closet style packages, then sold them. With being on site at residential construction a lot, It wasn't long before I took an interest in all the other trades and what they were doing. It was a done deal and here I am. With study and many training groups, software design, leadership, etc I was overseeing branch scope integration and trade work management as well as cross training products for USI branches so that multiple trade work could be sold and serviced from many branches. Fun ride but I wasn't appreciated via the Corporation and I did a lot of great things they are still doing today and making good money doing them. So I decided to start my own business due to all of the lame Contractors and horror stories you hear about them. That's how I fell into the Construction industry and how I obtained my skills and knowledge. I did have many classes and training seminars that were mandatory and I had to complete before I was given the team leader title and allowed to train others and teach design. I have trained annually with CPR and first aid and in compliance with all of OSHA and WISHA policies, and have many certifications as well. I can read and draw scaled, architectural renderings/ blueprints for any project and can not only match the speed of any tradesman in their scope, and I will produce better quality at the same time.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I'm sure we are all aware that when providing a public Service one will be subject to all walks of life.
I will say that I love working for good folks and I have been known to Grant wishes, fulfill dreams, and build futures.

LIST OF COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR STEVE’S HOME SERVICES, LLC.
If you’re at the point where you’ve decided it’s time to start that home remodeling project this year I'd like to help. We can help you with the challenging part of selecting the right general contractor for the job. Here is a list of commonly asked questions with answers.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS BUSINESS?
We have 25 years of experience and 10 years’ operating SHS.
DO YOU HAVE A CONTRACTING LICENSE?
Yes. General Contractor STEVEHS871BU.
WILL YOU OBTAIN THE PERMITS IF THEY ARE NEEDED?
Not every job requires permits or inspections. Some remodeling projects will require permits if the structure is changing. The owner shall obtain all licenses and permits necessary for proper completion of the Work. We will know what kind of permits you will need and how to get them. We are willing to pull them for you if needed.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
Once ready we will send you a formal contract. Then we will invoice you for half down on total cost. Once 50% of the job is complete (agreed by both parties) we will most likely need progress payments from that point forward. You will be able to withhold a percentage defined in the Contract until 100% completion to ensure everything is done to your satisfaction.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER PROJECTS YOU’RE WORKING ON NOW THAT COULD AFFECT OUR SCHEDULE?
If we have other projects in the works, we will let you know ahead of time before you are added to our calendar. We will schedule the dates for your job when we know there is an opening. We will keep you informed if there any changes to the schedule. Once we are on your job it is our goal to complete it before we move to the next one.
HOW WILL THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO OUR TIMELINE BE ADDRESSED?

Steve's Home Services shall furnish to the owner a list of names of subcontractors proposed to perform principal portions of the Work upon request. We will not employ any subcontractor to who whom the owner objects.
We have a dedicated highly qualified team that is covered by our liability and worker’s compensation. When we hire a subcontractor, it is done on a case by case basis and they will always carry their liability and insurance.

We will always protect your things with plastic coverings.
WHAT WILL THE NOISE LEVEL BE LIKE?
Depending on your job there will be possibly sounds such as hammering, saws, or drilling. If we are planning to make too much noise or dust for a long time, we will let you know.

Steve's Home Service warrants that the work shall be by the Contract Documents and free from material structural defects. We will redo or repair any work, not by the Contract or any defects caused by faulty materials, equipment or workmanship for (5) years from the date of completion of the Work.
The general contractor should provide you with the firm’s warranty in writing; don’t accept any verbal agreements. The warranty list should be clear and detailed. Some general contractors will visit your home within six months after the project is completed, and then again at one year (this is acceptable), and fix anything that went wrong due to their work or faulty products installed. The best general contractors will also return after two years and fulfill any warranty obligation items at that time.
DO YOU HAVE A LIST OF CLIENT REFERENCES?
