Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First take a phone interview. Then schedule a in home inspection with a estimate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hello this is Paul the main installer of BBHOMES. I took 3 years of shop classes. I also was in a apprenticeship program for all stages of room additions! Also 23 years of hands on work and many self education (reading books) and hands on learning from some of the best tradesmen in Virginia! Experience in most cases is very valued!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do our estimates by the project! First I will figure out how long it should take then I add in the Materials. After this I must add in a little for business cost ect. Then I cross reference my estimates with the national adverage and a hourly rate and if the numbers match that's the estimate! I ALWAYS GIVE A ITEMIZED ESTIMATE!
How did you get started in this business?
I was a orphan. My mother died when I was 3 and my dad abandoned us! I was raised by my uncles! I did good in school also in college then I met a older Contractor and became his right hand man for 10 years ! He taught me so much but most important things was always finish the job at a fair rate and treat your customers as you would like to be treated! Also never stop learning!
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types mostly Government Employees, Military, F.B.I. , I WORKED a small job for the C.I.A. In Langley. Middle Class, lower earners, all different type of Customers. The Customers we hope to attract are those whom want there job done correctly at a fair price rather than supper fast and take short cuts. We want to do your job properly for two reasons one our name will be on that job but the most important It's the Right Thing To Do!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our most recent project was a exterior trim project! We worked steady but not too fast that we missed some proper steps that was needed! The Customers was Teachers and they noticed that we did all the steps that they researched and was Very Happy and gave us a Bonus! Sanded all the wood, replaced what was too bad to repair, then primed and caulked, 2 finish Coats of paint!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you get at least 3 estimates! Don't pick the cheapest priced job and don't pick the highest priced. Also make sure the company writes down all the steps they will do not just tell you!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are the steps you are going to do in order to complete your project! Prices for Projects change because some companies do different steps and some leave out some prep steps!
