Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On average it will take approximately 20 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal treatment. Dry time is affected by humidity, temperature and air flow in the area. It can take anywhere between 6-12 hours for the carpet to completely dry, depending on the aforementioned variables. If a faster drying time is necessary we have fans available upon request. As the finishing touch to your thoroughly cleaned carpet and/or upholstery, specially formulated protector can be professionally applied. These products help carpet and upholstery resist soiling from dry dirt and water or oil based spills by wrapping each fiber in a protective coating.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We know choosing a carpet cleaner is important to you. We are committed to providing the best job in town. We guarantee our work. We are trained and internationally certified. We attend professional schools to keep up with the latest cleaning techniques. Most importantly, we treat our customers as our friends. There is no charge to move furniture. Our crews are professionally trained to move your furniture, and return it to its rightful place on foam blocks when cleaning is completed. Our cleaning depends primarily upon natural hot water and high extraction. We thus eliminate the need for excessive and aggressive chemicals, solvents, and harsh scrubbing. Tests have proven that our method leaves the absolute least amount of residue so there is no threat of premature wear, contamination, or re-soiling. We only use professional biodegradable agents that are safe for us, for our customer, and easy on our environment.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with many residential residences and commercial businesses. Riley’s Carpet Cleaning is backed by 29 years of experience. Some of the apartment buildings we have worked for are The View on 20th and many apartments run by Utah Property Management.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The method we use for cleaning is hot water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning. Hot, soft water and a specially formulated cleaning solution are injected deep within the carpet fibers. Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down dirt, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture to assure zero residues is left behind. It’s the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers. Unlike some other methods that can leave behind soil attracting residues, our cleaning program will actually extend the life and the appearance of the carpet. We can also apply fiber protectors to assist you in maintaining soil removal by regular vacuuming.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
There are different methods that professional carpet cleaners use to clean carpeting in homes or businesses. After major carpet mills and fiber producers tested the effectiveness of various cleaning methods, the choice for maximum carpet cleaning, texture retention and refreshing, and creating a healthier environment is HOT WATER EXTRACTION, also known as “STEAM CLEANING”.
