Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we provide a free phone consultation with our customers and then, if necessary, a free on site inspection and estimate in most cases. The price quoted will include all parts, labor, taxes and fees to complete the work. Should we find other additional problems during the work, we advise them of those and quote for the additional repairs. The warranty for all work will be clearly indicated on the invoice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 25 years of experience in the construction industry with thousands of happy customers and referrals for repeat business.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do not have a rigid standard pricing system but we do have a loose standard pricining system. Basically, for typical repairs, we have a general range of pricing that varies depending upon how much time it takes to complete that repair. For example, a simple "cable off drum" may take as little as 15 minutes or as long as 1 hour, depending on what caused that cable to come off and there are many things that can cause it to do that.
How did you get started in this business?
I had a career change event that led me to start working with my brother who had a garage door company in Plano operating back in the late 90's. When he moved out of state, I took over his company and renamed it to Alpha Omega Garage Doors, the "First and Last Name in Garage Doors".
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential and commercial of all types.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently a customer called me out with a garage door operator problem. The unit was old and needed replacement and it was late in the afternoon. We typically keep an operator on the trucks for such emergencies and completed the replacement for her that same evening which was greatly unexpected and she was thrilled. We also helped her move many items out of her garage to be able to complete the workk at no additional charge. She was thrilled again!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The key is reviews. Does that company have great reviews? If a customer takes the time to post a review, then you know that they did a great job as typically most people don't have time to even post a review unless they didn't like the service. If a person does not like their service they are 10x more likely to post a bad review than a good review if they liked the service.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Make sure you give as much information about what you have heard or seen prior to the problem occuring. If you have direct knowledge of what caused the problem or of other recent activity around the garage door or gate, please let the technician know. All of these can help us diagnose the problem and repair it more effectively.
