What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typicaly will take a tour of the home, then I inspect the attic and duct work. I look for things like air infiltration, proper insulation levels, leaking duct work, and proper ventalation. Basically, I look for anything that can be wasting energy or making the home uncomfortable. I then list all items found and give line item estimates for corrective measures. We then do a Q&A for each item. I never pressure a home owner to make a decision on the spot.

I was trained by the Building Princiipals Instute. BPI
I have 11 years of eperence in solving energy efficiency issues.

I typically do not charge for an energy efficiency evaluation.
Each home has different needs, so I address each item individulay. Things are priced by the foot, square foot, or Item.
How did you get started in this business?
I wanted to cut my energy bills. I did some research and found BPI. I took their training, did all the things to my home that needed improveing, got amazing results and the rest is history.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types , but primaraly ones just like myself that want to reduce their cost of operating a home and be comfortable in it year round.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a customer mid summer that could not keep her house below 80 degrees, had fans running in every room and was spending a fortune on electricity. She is a stay at home mom with 2 small children.
After we finished making the recomended improvements I had suggested, I stoped by to check on the work. When she saw me she was almost in tears. She couldn't beleve that in less than 2 days we fixed the life she had been living in that house for the last 7 years. She said she had never been so comfortable in her house and now it was there Home. It also made a huge difference on the kids. They could play all day instead of just sitting in the heat watching TV and were sleeping at night better than ever.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check them out, do they have a good informational web site, and reviews on google. Make sure the have experence and are not just there to pressure you to buy something.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Do You live with an uncomfortable home when temperatures are extream?
