Shearer Electrical Services
About
Our family has been servicing the needs of Texas homeowners for decades! With the launch of Shearer Electrical Services, we are now able to serve the people of Houston and it's surrounding communities as well. With 50+ years of combined insustry experience, our team is ready to tackle whatever project you have in mind. Proud to be a family owned and operated business, and we run our organization with the same values and principals we want our children to emulate. Placing the needs of our familys, customers, and our community above our profit margin.
I love to build things! To take a pile of raw materials and transform it into something not only recognizable, but useful. That's why I got into the trades, because I love driving through my community and knowing I had a hand in building some of it! Now I put that same passion and enthusiasm into growing this company. I hope to create a legacy that's still around long after I'm gone. I believe the best way to achieve that, is by delivering real value to everyone we encounter, customers, vendors, and employees alike.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whenever possible, I prefer to put my eyes on a project before offering any possible solutions, or estimates of the cost. This helps ensure I have a full grasp of any problems or potential complications that may arise. After completing my assessment, I inform the homeowner of the best plan of action as well as a breakdown of the costs, and schedule a time to complete the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to work for my father, the owner of Shearer Electric in 2002. For the last 18 years, I've worked in just about every corner of the Electrical Industry imaginable. My father, who is now my partner, had 25 years of experience when I started! I completed a trade school program as an apprentice, I am fully licensed in the State of Texas, and have my NCCER certification as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Typically service and repair work is billed off T&M, or the time and material cost needed to complete the project. Our rate is $75 an hour with a $75 trip charge for any job over 20 miles. A lot of jobs are awarded through a bid process, and if the customers requests it, one can be submitted in the vast majority of cases.
How did you get started in this business?
It's a family tradition, I'm the third one so far!
What types of customers have you worked with?
We typically focus on Residential Service and Repair, but we do take on some smaller commercial projects, as well as solar system installations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Taking my kids to the aquarium last week, and watching my boy learning to play T-Ball
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It's not always best to hire the cheapest service provider, particularly with something as dangerous as electricity. Look for the best overall value: factoring in experience, price, customer satisfaction ratings, quality of material, and the instillation methods.
