Professional, polite and affordable pet-sitting. I am a one-man operation, and so the quicker I hear from you, the better your chances. I have five years of experience, and am available to live in, as I find that makes it less traumatic on the pet. It's their home too!
I love dogs and cats (and fish too!), and so I am always inclined to those. I am not certified, but certainly qualified to help you ease into your vacation with the assurance that your fur-babies are well cared for!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will always set up a time to come over within a week before your anticipated departure date and see the daily routine, as well as for your pets to see me and get to know me a little. It also gives you a chance to meet me so I'm not just some faceless person to you, spending time in your home!! I will usually pick up a spare key then, or at the very least make arrangements for the key.
I usually find that new customers are usually fairly leary about paying without knowing me really well. In that case, I am happy to take a check and hold it until you return and everything is to your satisfaction. Cash is also appreciated, but I will require 50% upfront.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up on a farm with dogs and cats galore! I know this isn't exactly training in any formal sense, but I do find feeding and caring for animals is essentially universal.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $150/seven days. If I start on a Saturday and finish on the next Friday, that is seven days that I am present. For anything shorter than that, it's $25/day and for anything extra beyond seven days, it's $25/day on top of the $150/week. Some examples of my rates are below:
Saturday-Friday (7 days) = $150
Saturday-Thursday (6 days) = $150
Saturday-Tuesday (4 days) = $100
Saturday-Sunday (9 days or week plus 2 days) = $200
A non-standard rate may be issued in certain circumstances, but unless you have super-extenuating circumstances (i.e. multiple prescriptions, hordes of animals, etc.), it will be a standard rate. My standard rate always covers up to four (4) dogs and/or cats (or any combination thereof) and any number of standard, run-of-the-mill fish. Anything beyond, and I may charge a little extra.

I had some friends who asked me a few years ago and I found I enjoyed it!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Families, single people, couples whose dogs and cats are their children. Most anybody really.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Does my pet require special attention that the majority of other pets don't?
Is my home pet-proof in places where they are allowed to go? (I've had a cat escape through a hole in the screen of a screened porch and leave for three or four days while I've torn the house apart trying to find it.) If there are places where a pet might escape because it feels spooked at the new person in their home, my experience tells me they will. I always check myself, but its usually good for the owner to do so as well.
