The Home Artisan Group
About
The Home Artisan Group is employee focused, we train heavily and bring a team that works together and accomplishes complicated tasks more easily and with better results than a General Contractor that brings in many different teams to get the project done. A "Home Artisan" is a master remodeler. No one person on our team can do everything with mastery but their skills overlap to create a team that can. (For example, our last custom house was built 90+% in house) We also focus on design to ensure functionality and classsic aesthetics.

As the president and founder, I saw early on in my career that there was a large gap between what I thought homeowners should recieve from builders and what they typically received. Having built this company from the ground up, it is really rewarding to see it work over and over. Most homeowners don't even realize our benefits, as when thing simply don't go wrong it is harder to imagine what things were like before a company with accountability came along but it is very rewarding to me. I also have natural problem solving skills that come in to play very often and creating solutions no one else could come up with is very enjoyable.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All of our free proposals start with a site visit. After all of the clients needs and expectations from the project are discussed, we put together a detailed, broken down, proposal that allows them to pick options as needed and customize their project. If Plans or Blueprints are required, a 5% deposit is made that allows us to work on those. If not a 10% deposit holds their place in our schedule and then payments are made as we accomplish the work, with a 10% final payment held by the client until satisfaction of a final "punch out" list.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As with most Bulders, my own personal knowledge is mostly gathered over the years. My father, grandfather and god-father were all builders and I worked with them from the age of 6. I have also atteneded Art School to round out my design abilities and taken Architectural classes at Harvard. Our staff is trained in Home Artisan Methods and techniques. The classes were created by Master Home Artisans over the years and relate to all aspects of remodeling and building from protecting the clients home during construction to tile to roofing to painting etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No we do not. Every home is different and every project is diferent and we customize ourproposals and our projects to suit the home as it exists, the request and the budget.
How did you get started in this business?
I decided early on I wanted to be a home builder after seeing my god-father in action. I took on jobs in the trades to round out my knowledge and when I had covered all of the trades started out on my own.
