About

Hello! I am a full time pet sitter with lots of experience with many different kinds of animals. I am a highly dependable and trustworthy individual with a completely clean background check! I send photos daily of your animals to you, and I am extremely responsive to texts and messages!

I do petsitting out of your home; whether it's 30-minute stop ins to let your dog out once, or throughout the day, or overnight visits for an extended vacation, I am here to work with your schedule!

I have two dogs and two cats of my own. My dogs are both highly trained and are shown in obedience. My dogs are both canine good citizens, and I take one of my dogs and one of my cats (who are therapy certified) to nursing homes each week to cheer up the residents! I have dedicated my entire life to my animals, and I hope that I am able to make you feel more at ease knowing that your animals are in good hands while you're away!

I have extensive exotic animal care experience as well, housing over 15 species of exotic animals from poison dart frogs to monitor lizards. I am comfortable serving your pets raw or home cooked meals, as well as feeding live prey to exotic animals.

I have many highly satisfied, repeat clients that I visit daily, as well as an extended list of references. You can look at my reviews and testimonials on my Rover profile: http://Rover.com/sit/maddies15

I can take any form of payment; cash, check, card, Venmo/Square etc!

I hope to hear from you soon!

Frequently asked questions

Before starting; I always do an in-home meet and greet so you are able to meet me and get to know more about me and so your dogs are able to become familiarized with me in your home. At this time, I will go over any rates (if we haven't discussed them prior) and I will gather your veterinary information in case of emergencies and discuss any medical history or medicinal needs of your pets.

I was previously trained in pet CPR/first aid and plan on renewing my certification within the next couple of months. I worked in an emergency veterinary hospital, where I was trained in proper restraint of dogs and cats and animal behavior. I am a state licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator, and I also specialize in rehabilitating domestic reptiles. I have lots of animals of my own that I use to educate the public on proper care and respect of both wild and domestic animals. I am the Vice President of a canine 4H club where I help younger children with basic obedience training of their dogs. I also worked at a holistic pet store for over a year and was trained in holistic dog and cat nutrition.

My prices vary depending on the distance and job, please message me for more details!

I started pet sitting when several people asked me to watch their animals while they were on vacation. Upon returning, they told me I should make a business out of pet sitting because I was  reliable and trustworthy. I then started doing pet sitting on the side of my retail job and was quickly swamped with requests; which is when I realized that I wanted to peruse this as a full time career!

My most frequent clients are those that I do mid-day drop in's to let their dogs out to play while they're at work. I currently have anywhere from 3-6 clients per day. I also have a couple of clients that have me stay all day while they're at work for either senior dogs, dogs with health concerns, or puppies. I am available for overnights and extended vacation stays as well.

This career has been extremely rewarding for me, but my favorite part of being a pet sitter has to be seeing shy dogs really come out of their shell and feel comfortable around me and the reaction of the owners when their shy dog approaches me with a confidence they didn't know they had. I also really enjoy teaching my furry friends tricks, and it's always a lot of fun to see the pet parents excited about a new trick their dog learned.

It never hurts to be too careful. I've had plenty of people tell me horror stories about previous pet sitters they've had. Find a pet sitter who will report in to you often, reply quickly to messages, answer all of your questions, and not be afraid to contact you if something is of concern. Find someone with good reviews and lots of happy clients!
