With over 10 years of hands-on computer experience and more than 9 years in business, Schumm’s Computers provides reliable and affordable computer repair, upgrades, maintenance, and custom PC services in Landing, NJ and surrounding areas.

Whether your computer is running slow, won’t start, is having Windows problems, needs a hardware upgrade, or you’re looking to build a custom gaming PC, I can help diagnose the problem and find a solution that fits your needs and budget.

Services include computer diagnostics and troubleshooting, Windows repair and setup, virus and malware removal, PC cleaning and maintenance, SSD and RAM upgrades, GPU and other hardware installation, data transfers, new computer setup, and complete custom gaming PC builds.

Diagnostics start at $30, and the diagnostic fee is applied toward an approved repair. I believe in clear communication, honest pricing, and recommending only the repairs or upgrades that make sense for you and your computer.

Local pickup and delivery are available, along with on-site service by appointment.

I start by discussing the symptoms you’re experiencing, then inspect and test the computer to identify the source of the problem. I check both hardware and software as needed, reproduce the issue when possible, and rule out potential causes step by step. Once diagnosed, I explain what I found, recommend the best repair options, and provide pricing before moving forward with any work.

How did you get started in this business?

I got into computer repair because I’ve always had a passion for electronics and enjoyed figuring out how things work and how to fix them. Over time, I realized I could use that knowledge to help people who may not have the experience or technical knowledge to diagnose and repair their own computers. I enjoy solving problems, helping people get their technology working again, and providing an honest, affordable alternative when repairs are needed.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I’ve worked with a wide range of customers, including families with children, seniors, gamers, and everyday home computer users. I understand that everyone has different needs and budgets, including customers on fixed incomes. When possible, I’m flexible and work with customers to find practical, affordable solutions without recommending unnecessary repairs or upgrades.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

When hiring a computer repair professional, look for someone who communicates clearly, explains the problem and your options, and is upfront about pricing before starting the work. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the repair, whether your data will be protected, and if repairing or upgrading the computer makes financial sense. A good technician should help you make the best decision for your needs and budget—not simply recommend the most expensive option.
