RLH Electrical Contractor
About
As a small electrical contractor, I enjoy taking on only enough work that I can actually handle realistically. I enjoy the one customer, one job at a time approach. I do admit there are times were demand dictates that I have more than one job going on at a time. However, I find that I can offer a much more budget friendly, thorough, organized, detailed, and customized experience for each customer if I put some limitations on the amount that I take on. Also, the customer gets me, the actual license holder on the job each day, instead of just maybe some guys/gals who work for me. It is an approach that has made many long time customers, longtime friends. Please join me on facebook... https://www.facebook.com/ContactRLH

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically speak with the customer over the phone and let them tell me what their specific need is, or the scope of work to be done. I then let the customer know how I charge, whether by the hour or by the job (just depends on the job itself and the specific needs of the customer) and I make arrangements to come out and do an on site estimate if the situation calls for it. Once on location, I find out what the options are for the customer and most of the time, (just depending on the size of the job), I can get back to them with an estimate same day or by the next morning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a NC Electrical Contracting License, an AAS Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and an AAS Degree in Computer Engineering Technology. I have experience in residential, commercial and industrial power, lighting and electrical controls and lots of troubleshooting & service work experience. I also have experience in ethernet and cable tv.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, if hourly and within 15 miles of the office your rate is $35/hr + $85 service fee (covering truck, licenses and insurance) that is charged once per week (5 day period) for jobs or calls that are ongoing for 5 days or less. The $85 service fee is charged again for each consecutive week (5 day period) that a job is ongoing. For jobs/calls 15miles and up the charge is $45/hr + the $85 service fee once per week or five day period. Also, for larger projects, I will give a "not to exceed" price or amount that I will do a job for. Customer has the option to pay for materials up front giving them the materials for a substantial savings (NO MARK UP).
