I love being a technician in the Electrical Technology world. My main passion would definitely be after I finish a big project and looking back at it like man this is beautiful. Gives me a bigger purpose in my craft. I do outside GFCi and more adding installations to decks flood lights etc... as well as a portion of commercial (I have worked with more then 10 businesses for commercial; I would say I have more experience in residential (years that is)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally I greet myself as Derrick and keep conversation light. After a while of becoming familiar with each other then I begin by asking questions about the installation, any circuit interruptions and or problem in general.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am now finishing my Diploma at Wilson Tech Community for Electrical Systems Technology. As well as 3 years of experience in working in the Field not only as a Electrician in the construction field but also a Service Tech Electrician for commercial & residential properties. Private and public.

it depends on the labor and whether or not anything dealing with the panel is necessary. Usually I like to recieve the call and do an estimate for the job. Either over the phone or in person
How did you get started in this business?
I started in a trade school and prior I have been working in construction and renovations. My first time doing electrical I was pulling Romex out the walls.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of customers to be honest most of them are business owners and people in position of power.

Fixing 2 motors for a boat dock.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don’t just look for longevity but passion.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Well you should have questions. Honestly speaking if the specialist is good with their trade, then they will be asking the questions.
