Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to call my customers, discuss their questions and concerns and pricing and set up an appointment with them to solve whatever issues they might have
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 30 years experience working building and repairing homes in Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC and Sheetrock repair, I have also been a Certified Pool Operator for 10 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For service calls I charge 50.00 / hr. for larger jobs that require more time I give free estimates that can be discussed be me and the customer
How did you get started in this business?
I started in this business as a Carpenter in Wilmington NC building homes on the beach and over time I began Plumbing the same homes I was building. In the process of being a Carpenter I learned sheetrock repair doing warranty jobs for the construction company I worked for and when I moved to Fayetteville NC it became a part of my Job description working in Apartment Complexes
What types of customers have you worked with?
I am truly blessed to say that I have worked with a large client base from the normal everyday homeowner that works everyday to CEOS and people of higher standing in Society, I have enjoyed working with each and every one of them both collectively and individually
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently did a job for a client that had some electrical issues that needed my assistance but because of Covid really didn't have the funds available for extensive repairs, I took the job and worked out a reasonable price for her and repaired what could be repaired and also worked out a plan for her for future repairs
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always find out from any repair person you hire what qualifies them to do the work ( experience, resume, schooling)
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
On a service request always get their hourly rate and always ask where that time starts from, some rates start at your front door and others start when they leave the office ( that's an important question) and on larger jobs that require an estimate and get the estimate in writing and always find out all the terms of that estimate ( is the material included in this price, hourly rate? or by the square foot ect)
