Southern Charm is a Christian and Firefighter-owned, family-oriented company with more than thirty years of industry experience. Our inspections reports are customized to each property we inspect and strictly follow the guidelines as set forth by the NC Home Inspections Licensure Board.

All Southern Charm inspectors are licensed and insured to levels far exceeding those set by the State of North Carolina. All Southern Charm Inspectors are part of the Public Safety Community and are able to pour our experience, ownership, and training into each inspection. Above all else, we inspect our properties as though we are the buyer and the property we're inspecting will be our own.

Just as with the Public Safety profession, we do what we do for several reasons. The reason why this company was started is quite simple. The owner of Southern Charm experienced an extremely poor inspection of his personal home in 2004 at the hands of an irresponsible and unprofessional inspector. Gross negligence on the part of that inspector caused the owner of Southern Charm to be required to spend close to $17,000.00 out of pocket to effect repairs to his home just three years after purchase. Had the inspector performed his inspection properly, the issues that were discovered three years later would have been found during the inspection. Furthermore, the owner of Southern Charm amputated his left thumb while repairing the defects that were missed during the inspection. This amputation required major surgery that caused an additional financial burden in the way of $53,000.00 out of pocket, as well as caused him the loss of his job at the time due to the long recovery.

Bottom line? Our owner, William (Will) Heath does not wish for any other person to ever have to experience what all he and his family did. That's why he performs and expects his inspectors to perform to the highest level of service. No corners are cut. No shortcuts are taken. He personally trains his inspectors to the exact standards he has set forth for himself and does not compromise.
