Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New clients have to go through the consulting process to discuss issues and solutions. The purpose of the process is to set goals for the dog and the owner. Following the consultation we will discuss training process and set up upcoming sessions. For treats a client can choose from baked goods that are already in inventory or can be made upon request , I also cater to dogs with certain sensitivities or special diets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started training at petsmart in 2015, I am mostly self taught but I also have studied and completed CCPDT and I have read books like ( How Dogs Learn by Mary Burch Ph.D. and Jon Bailey Ph.D. ) and ( The art of Positive Reinforcement ) . I have been training dogs for 7 years. I offer an arrangement of dog treats and goodies made with all natural ingredients and I have taken multiple nutrition classes , I also have been baking since I was 14.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Standard pricing for consultation is $70, if clients choose to do a monthly plan it's $250/8 sessions, or $35 per session.
For treats and other goodies it's $5 per 12oz bag which is usually around 10-12 cookies. Training treats ( soft treats) are also available. Cakes and other goodies ( depending on inventory varies based on requests.)
How did you get started in this business?
I got started with my own dog training business because I love the industry. Many Americans have beloved pets and most don't have time to train and some don't know where to start. I love the art of teaching dogs basic skills to live harmoniously with their owners.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have done a lot of works with first time pet owners, people who adopt a dog with little to no training, and I've done work with breeders to ensure their puppies go to good homes and stay in a good home.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customer should make sure they have consistent time dedicated to training. Customer should keep in mind that Rome wasn't built in a day and with time, consistency, and patience, they can have success with training.
