About this pro

Honor My Paws trains dogs through the use of games. These games teach dogs concepts such as calmness, optimism, focus, confidence, proximity, and disengagement, to name a few. Through these concepts your dog will learn the skills needed in any environment  to make the right decision. The training involves only positive interactions with your dog, and provides a framework to constantly be building a relationship with your dog. We help with any dog regardless of age, type, or breed. Give us a call. We are here to help:)

I am a ABCDT (Animal Behavior College) and PDTDT (Pro Dog Trainer) certified dog trainer with 20 years of experience.

You will be happy you did:)

What I enjoy the most about my business is watching the relationship between dog and owner grow.  There's nothing more satisfying than watching pessimism about a relationship grow into optimism:) This is the mission of Honor My Paws. We work with each dog individually. Our motto is to "work with the dog in front of us," regardless of the breed, type, age, etc., believing that any dog is trainable.

We were recommended to Guy and Honor My Paws by a coworker. We had an issue where two of our dogs started fighting to the point that we thought we were going to have to re-home one of them. We met with two other trainers before Guy. They both wanted to use shock collars and do the board and train thing for at least 4 weeks for thousands of dollars. Along with not giving us much hope.... Our house was like walking on egg shells. Until we talked to Guy on the phone. He immediately knew what to do and talked to us for 40 minutes before the first meeting about what to do. It felt like the world was lifted off our shoulders. From the moment Guy walked into our house and started working with our two dogs everything changed. We now have two dogs that are back to cuddling and playing together. Along with being able to walk on a leash and not react to things or people. They are still learning and we look forward to every lesson from Guy. I recommend him to everyone no matter the dogs age. You will be impressed right away with how much he can help you.

I would definitely recommend Honor My Paws. I don’t know what we would have done without Guy’s help. We are first time dog owners and had no clue how to even begin training our puppy. We noted our dog was much more manageable after our first session and this continued to improve after each subsequent session. She now knows several commands and we have been given guidance as to how to continue to add additional commands.

Guy is fantastic !!!! My dog suffers from extreme anxiety and I never knew this was something that could really be helped. But with Guy’s training, my dog has shown major improvement. Guy has helped him to grow in confidence, so he isn’t as scary or anxious. Not to mention, Guy is so nice and great with all animals!! He has a wonderful heart to help others! Our family is so grateful for him!!

We have really appreciated Guy’s work with our dog Winnie. Guy is kind, gentle, and loving in dealing with animals, and it is evident as soon as he enters the door. Our dog, Winnie, loves him! We like the fact that Guy has had a lot of experience training dogs. We are also very much in favor of his approach in training, establishing trust with the dog, never, ever harsh or overpowering. We appreciate the fact that he is easy to get in touch with if you have questions or problems, and always responds patiently and thoughtfully. He also provides a written summary of each training session. We highly recommend Guy as a trainer for dogs! We’ve seen great results!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I typically provide an initial consultation (free) to determine specific needs. This is to get to know the owner and how they see their relationship with their dog. If the owner is interested, I get to know the dog, and the process of training begins to meet the needs of both the owner and dog.
